Synopsis: After a Drag Queen tour of the gay animals at the zoo, Owen and Laine look deeper into the legacy of the book Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity, which has been their talisman throughout this journey. They begin with a conversation with the book’s illustrator and discover why he had to keep his illustrations of hedgehog cunnilingus a secret. Then, Owen and Laine speak with Queer animal scholar Stacy Alaimo, and Atmos Magazine editor-in-chief Willow Defebaugh to discuss the legacy and future of Queerness in Nature.
Guests: Gertrude Glossip – Drag Performer and Tour Guide ; John Megahan – science illustrator ; Stacy Alaimo – author of Eluding Capture: The Science, Culture, and Pleasure of ‘Queer’ Animals ; Willow Defebaugh editor-in-chief of Atmos.Earth
